Customers Unable To Reach Popular Greenwich Avenue Business: 'We’re Extremely Concerned'
Several customers have complained they're unable to reach the business to pick up expensive orders.
GREENWICH, CT — The Piccolina Shop on the usually bustling Greenwich Avenue has left customers scratching their heads, as many have reported problems getting in touch with owners to pick up orders in recent days.
The store at 82 Greenwich Ave. offers gear, toys, clothing and other items for babies and toddlers. On Thursday during what would be normal business hours, the store was closed and dark. A FedEx note was taped to the door for a missed delivery.
"We’ve received a few calls over the past week from customers asking what’s going on, and we’ve also seen some of the chatter on local Greenwich social media pages. We’ve tried reaching out directly, but so far haven’t been able to connect — their mailbox is full," Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Andrea Blume told Patch this week via email in response to a request for comment.

"They’re a member in good standing with us and have always had a strong following in Fairfield County," Blume added. "We’ve never received any complaints, and this situation is definitely out of the ordinary for them."
Blume noted the Chamber did not have any confirmed information to share.

"We’re hopeful everything is okay and that there isn’t an emergency," she said.

Google results note the store is "temporarily closed." The business' Instagram page has been deleted.
On Reddit, customers voiced frustration in trying to pickup items like expensive strollers or car seats, saying calls, emails and texts have gone unanswered.
"At this point, we’re extremely concerned. My wife is 37 weeks pregnant, and we’re waiting on items we’ve already paid for and need before the baby arrives," one resident posted.
State records show the business is active, but overdue on filings.
The Piccolina Shop was opened in July 2020 by Lenamarie Scilipoti. Scilipoti is listed as the principal owner in state records.
"I've run stores across the country, and I've never seen a town like Greenwich that does so much for small businesses," Scilipoti told Patch in 2020. "I just think the people [in Greenwich] are great, and the support you get from the town is great. All of that is just the perfect recipe for success for a store like ours."
The Norwalk Hour reported in late January that The Piccolina Shop was planning to open a new location in Norwalk this spring.
Scilipoti did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday.
