Darien mathematician unveils new book at the Greenwich Math Club

Xing Zhou, resident of Darien and a quantitative analyst at RBS talks about his love for mathematics and new book at CLSC Math Club!

While every Sunday at the Chinese Language School of Connecticut is exciting, on April 23rd Eastern Middle School was especially busy. From 10:30am to 12:30pm, while classes were in session, parents selected custom designed Seal Script templates for a family art competition, year of the rooster t-shirts were being distributed, the volunteer-run snack bar was open, and two demo classes were running simultaneously for prospective families interested in enrolling at CLSC.

Later during the day two more math enrichment classes took place and special guest Xing Zhou gave a lecture for the competition math class. Mr. Zhou is a quantitative analyst at Royal Bank of Scotland and a former math competition winner. He has also written a series of books for gifted students interested in math, and runs a math website, mathallstar.org. The class concluded with a book signing by Mr. Zhou.

In the second, introductory math enrichment class, students learned about different ways to count and created 3D Sierpinski triangles.
