Downtown Roadwork Slated For Thursday Night: Town Of Greenwich
Aquarion Water Company received approval for the work from the Greenwich Board of Selectmen Thursday morning.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Board of Selectmen on Thursday morning unanimously voted to allow Aquarion Water Company to perform construction Thursday night in the downtown area.
The work will take place from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., Jan. 25 into Jan. 26, at the intersection of Bruce Park Avenue and Mason Street. A police officer will be assigned to direct traffic during the roadwork.
Brian Murphy, from Murphy Bros. Contracting, LLC, told the selectmen Thursday that it is only expected to take one night to complete the work.

Murphy said a defective water valve in the middle of the intersection needs to be dug up and replaced by three new valves.
The water main will be shut off when work begins at 7 p.m., the town said in an announcement. There is an approximate time of 11 p.m. for service to be restored.

Aquarion said it recently notified the 28 customers that will be affected by the temporary water main shut off.
