Driver Faces DUI Charge, After Greenwich Police Witness Car Crash
The driver is accused of rear-ending the car in front of him.

It was just before 4 a.m. Sunday when a Greenwich Police officer witnessed a motorist hit a car in front of him at the intersection of East Putnam and Sound Beach avenues.
The officer found that the driver who rear-ended the other vehicle had red, glassy, bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcoholic beverages, according to a police report. The driver then failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.
The driver, identified as Michael P. Ortega, 29, of 372 Stillwater Ave., Stamford, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and following too close. He was released after posting $250 bond and is scheduled to appear June 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The report did not indicate whether the driver of the car that was rear-ended suffered any injuries.
