Driver Stopped for Broken Headlight Is Facing DUI Charge

Greenwich Police say the driver had red, glassy eyes and failed field sobriety tests.

A motorist stopped by Greenwich Police for having a broken headlight is facing a driving under the influence charge.

According to a police report, the driver was stopped by officers at 4:16 a.m. Nov. 22 on West Putnam Avenue. The driver reportedly had red, glassy eyes, an odor of alcohol and then failed field sobriety tests.

The driver, identified as Jorge Ivan Galeano, 36, who gave an address of 9 School St., Norwalk, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to have headlights lit. Galeano was unable to post a $250 bond. He was given a Dec. 1 appearance date in state Superior Court in Stamford.
