Drunk Driver Slams Into Mailbox, Flees: Greenwich Police
The crash occurred Wednesday afternoon in Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — A 32-year-old West Haven man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and evading responsibility Wednesday afternoon after he slammed his vehicle into a mailbox on Edgewater Drive in Old Greenwich and fled the scene, according to police.
Brian A. Dorsi, of East Avenue, was additionally charged with failure to drive in a proper lane and possession of a controlled substance following the 1:45 p.m. crash.
Greenwich police said officers found Dorsi about a quarter of a mile away from the crash site "in his running vehicle unconscious and unresponsive, slumped over the steering wheel."

Dorsi failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest. The type of controlled substance in Dorsi's possession was not disclosed, but it will be tested and was described as a "powdery substance" found in numerous folds of paper.
He was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 26.
