Off-Duty Greenwich Officer Saves Children from Icy Pond: CORRECTION

Officer Tom Heustis quickly came to the rescue of the two young children back in 2016.

GREENWICH, CT — Off-duty Greenwich Police Officer Tom Heustis sprang into action to save two toddlers from a cold pond at Greenwich Point.

A Stamford woman was walking with her two children in a baby stroller near the causeway at Eagle Pond when the stroller suddenly tipped and slid about seven feet down an embankment, according to the Greenwich Time.

The two baby carriers were dislodged and ended up in the water. Heustis quickly jumped into action and grabbed the two children, 13 months and 6-weeks-old. They weren't injured.
