Eversource Plans Power Grid Upgrades In Greenwich

The improvements mean temporary changes to the Riverside Station South on Oval Avenue in Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — Utility company Eversource Energy will begin a transmission structure upgrade project this weekend at the Metro-North Riverside Station South on Oval Avenue in Greenwich, the company announced.

The project is designed "as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the power grid and increase reliability," and will take place into late October in the Riverside Metro-North parking lot adjacent to Oval Avenue.

"This work will temporarily affect parking at the southbound station and traffic flow on Oval Avenue," wrote officials in a statement. "Construction is expected to take place during weekends beginning September 15."

The work will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 15 to October 22, and weather permitting, will be done between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
