Exciting Transitions at Temple Sholom's Religious School
The Temple Sholom Learning Center in Greenwich, CT, will welcome two Directors for the fall 2019-2020 school year.

Temple Sholom (300 East Putnam Avenue) is excited to announce that effective July 1, 2019, current Nursery School Director David Cohen has taken on the role of Director of Schools at Temple Sholom, and Senior Rabbinic Fellow Kevin Peters will now oversee the religious school curriculum and faculty at the Temple Sholom Learning Center as the Director of Judaic Studies.
Since joining the Selma Maisel Nursery School in 2016, Cohen has succeeded in keeping the nursery school on the cutting edge of early childhood education. Not only has he transformed the curriculum with STEAM-based learning, but he has also expanded the school to include a full-day program for children as young as six weeks old, as well as a new summer program for rising 3’s, 4’s and 5’s.
“Over the past few months, we’ve been preparing David Cohen for his new position as Director of Schools,” said Executive Director Eileen Robin. “We know David will bring his passion for learning and Judaism to this new role, and many of our Temple families are thrilled to have him oversee the educational programs in both the nursery school and the religious school.”

Kevin Peters first came to Temple Sholom in 2018 as a Rabbinic Fellow. He recently graduated with an MA from the William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and is currently a fourth year rabbinical student at JTS. Before attending JTS, Peters worked in the field of developmental disabilities with the goal of making Jewish communal and educational environments more inclusive and sensitive to individuals with learning disabilities.
In his new role of Senior Rabbinic Fellow/Director of Judaic Studies, Rabbi Kevin will assist in creating a vibrant Jewish learning environment for all students, implementing family programs and services, and providing support and mentorship for the religious school staff.
