Families from the Chinese Language School of Connecticut attend Mooncake Workshop at UConn-Stamford

Chinese language School of Connecticut of Greenwich and Stamford continued the Mid Autumn Moon Festival Celebration this past weekend at 1 University Place at UConn Stamford by hosting a Snow-Skin Mooncake Making Workshop for current CLSC families. Approximately 15 pounds of gluten-free rice flour, 22 cans of organic coconut cream were used to make multi-colored snow skin mooncakes that were infused with both traditional flavors such as sweet organic red Azuki bean, sweet organic green Mung bean, dairy-free dark chocolate ganache or chunky organic apple fillings, a new twist on an old Chinese dessert. Unlike traditional Chinese mooncakes, Snow-skin mooncake dough is pre-cooked using CLSC's own secret recipe so participants are able to customize wrappers and fillings to their own liking. " We provide the best ingredients to our participants; It's also a great way for families and friends to have fun and commemorate a special holiday!" said Sharon Lum, Director of CLSC and one of the organizers of this event. Huge efforts are made several times a year to organize family workshops where multi generations gather to have fun and learn to make popular holiday foods.
