After receiving descriptions of a man and a woman who left the area following the fight, officers located the pair at a nearby apartment building, police said. Both admitted they had been out of the apartment and at the injured man's vehicle, police said.
The man, who was identified as 36-year-old Nicholas Scarfone, had blood on his fingernails and red, swollen knuckles, as well as a "fresh scrape" on his wrist, according to police.

Scarfone, who police said "was shaking and appeared nervous," denied entering the vehicle or having any physical contact with the injured man. Police said Scarfone's injuries were consistent with having been in a fight.
"The woman had admitted that Scarfone was enraged and became involved in a heated argument with the victim," police said. "Based on the facts and circumstances, Scarfone was placed under arrest."
He was charged with third-degree assault.
