Quick Work Saves Greenwich House From Significant Fire Damage
Firefighters in Greenwich battled a fire Wednesday morning.

GREENWICH, CT — Firefighters extinguished a multifamily residential fire in the area of Byram Road and North Water Street intersection Wednesday morning.
Engine 3 was on scene within minutes of dispatch finding smoke in the house and confirmed a working basement fire, fire officials said.
Units were able to extinguish the basement fire, opened up on the first floor and checked for extension throughout the building, officials said. All occupants were able to self evacuate and no injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported, officials said.

The GFD Fire Marshals Division is investigating the cause.
"Another example of quick and efficient fire attack which saved the residence from further damage," fire officials said.
