Firefighters Injured While Extinguishing Garage Fire In Greenwich

Two firefighters were injured while extinguishing a garage fire in the Glenville area of town, according to fire officials.

GREENWICH, CT — Two firefighters were injured while extinguishing a garage fire at a home in the Glenville area of town Sunday afternoon, according to fire officials.

The "working" fire broke out around 3 p.m., officials said on Facebook. Firefighters worked to quickly put out the fire, which was located in the home's garage, officials said.

Two firefighters were injured while putting out the fire, and one was taken to Greenwich Hospital for evaluation, officials said.

According to the Greenwich Time, fire officials said no serious injuries were reported. The home is located on Alden Road, and both the garage and two cars were significantly damaged by the fire, according to officials.
