With a Flat Tire, Man Is Busted for Drunk Driving in Greenwich

Greenwich Police say they received a complaint on a blocked driveway at 8 a.m. and found a drunk man trying to change a tire.

Greenwich Police report that when they investigated a complaint of a blocked driveway at 8 in the morning, they found a man who had a flat tire after hitting the curb and didn’t know where he was.

It was at 8:01 a.m. July 25 in front of 93 Hamilton Ave. in the Chickahominy neighborhood of town that officers found the man who was described as “extremely lethargic, had slurred speech, displayed red bloodshot eyes and swayed while talking to officers,” according to the police report.

“Further, he related that he was unaware of where he currently was,” police stated in the report.

“After failing all field sobriety tests,” Timothy J Widmayer, 24, of Bryan Drive, Montville, NJ, was arrested on a driving under the influence charge. Widmayer told police he hit a curb and he pulled into the driveway to change the car tire.

Widmayer was released to the custody of his parents who posted a $250 bond, according to the report. He’s scheduled to appear Aug. 10 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
