Former Greenwich BET Member Announces Run For State Treasurer

In addition to serving on the Board of Estimate and Taxation, john Blankley has also served on the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich resident John Blankley, a Democrat who formerly served on the town's Board of Estimate and Taxation, has announced his candidacy for state Treasurer, reports the Greenwich Post.

Blankley, a businessman who co-founded the computer consulting company Flagship Networks Inc., has lived in Greenwich for more than 30 years, and has also served on the town's Representative Town Meeting. He also has years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer for companies in the oil, gas, chemical and shipping industries.

"When I ran for the State Senate in 2016 I identified three major issues that needed attention: unfunded pension liabilities, infrastructure investment and new job creation," wrote Blankley on his campaign website. "My entire business and professional experience had prepared me to bring new ideas to help address all of these aspects of the state's economy and finances."
