Former Old Greenwich Bank Could Become New Restaurant, Retail Space
The building would be converted into two separate units with two new storefronts, according to documents submitted to Planning & Zoning.

GREENWICH, CT — The shuttered Bank of America on Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich could be converted into a new restaurant and retail space, according to documents submitted to the Greenwich Planning & Zoning Commission.
The property is owned by SBA Property Owner LLC, and Richard Saunders, documents state.
Under the proposal, the building at 206 Sound Beach Ave. would be converted into two separate units with two new storefronts. On one side would be an approximatley 2,187-square-foot restaurant with a capacity of around 60 seats, with six seats at the bar.

A kitchen, bar and two restrooms would be constructed, along with new mechanical, electrical and plumbing and new flooring where required.
The other unit would be a roughly 1,087-square-foot retail store, documents show.

There is currently parking for 21 spaces, including a handicap spot, according to the documents. The owner is considering demolishing the existing drive-thru ATM to add additional spaces for future use.
The tax card for the property notes that the building was constructed in 1950.
The proposal has not yet been scheduled to go before the planning & zoning commission.
