Fraudulent Wire Transfer Of $400,000 Thwarted By Greenwich Bank, Police

The incident occurred Wednesday morning.

GREENWICH, CT — A 42-year-old Maryland man, who was using a forged driver's license from Pennsylvania, allegedly tried to make a fraudulent international wire transfer from the Citizen's Bank on Greenwich Avenue before bank employees notified Greenwich police and he was arrested.

Justin Saul Jones, of Westminster, MD, was charged with:

  • Larceny, first degree
  • Identity Theft, first degree
  • Criminal Impersonation
  • Forgery, first degree
  • Interfering with an Officer

Details of how Jones allegedly tried to wire the funds, and where he was trying to send them, were not disclosed.

He was held in lieu of a $250,000 and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on May 17.
