Full Road Closure To Begin Soon On Critical Bridge Project In Greenwich: Details

GREENWICH, CT — A full road closure to facilitate the North Street Bridge replacement will begin on Monday, June 8, according to the Department of Public Works.

The road is expected to be closed through Aug. 28. During this time, an official detour route will be in place.

Drivers should plan ahead as delays are expected. Drivers should use caution and patience while traveling in the area.

The project is "a critical infrastructure project intended to replace an aging bridge structure and improve long-term safety and reliability for the traveling public," DPW says.

The project is being funded through the Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program (LOTCIP) for construction and inspection, with design funded by the town.

Construction is being performed by McCarthy Concrete, Inc., with a total construction cost of approximately $4.52 million.

Work is expected to be complete in spring 2027.
