Gang Of Shoplifters Hit 3 Greenwich Avenue Stores, Cops Say
The suspects stole the same type of item from each location.
GREENWICH, CT — A gang of four shoplifters stole several handbags from three Greenwich Avenue stores on Aug. 29 in a brazen grab-and-run spree, according to Greenwich police.
Brooks Brothers, Hermes and Saks Fifth Avenue - all within about a block of each other - were hit. The exact number of handbags that were stolen, and their values, was not disclosed.
In the case of the Brooks Brothers incident, the thieves ran in through the rear door, grabbed a handbag and ran back out of the same door. They were spotted by the store's manager, who contacted the police.

The suspects were all described as Hispanic males, one of whom was seen wearing a gray fedora.
The investigation is ongoing, as detectives pour over surveillance video.
