Golf Tournament to Raise Funds for a Cos Cob Native's Medical Costs

There will be a golf tournament to benefit Cos Cob native and 1980 Greenwich High School graduate Marc Gangi and his family on Friday, Oct. 10, at the Whitney Farms Golf Course in Monroe.

The tournament is to raise funds to help defray medical expenses after Gangi was critically injured in a fall at his home in early August. Gangi, who was a football and baseball player at Greenwich High, is recuperating at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford.

The cost is $175 a person, which includes golf, lunch, dinner, open bar for two hours and raffle prizes. Tee off is 11 a.m. with dinner following immediately after. Registration is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The tournament is limited to the first 144 golfers, with registration ending on Oct. 1.

Organizers say, “If you do not golf, please consider joining us for dinner ($50). You can make the checks payable to “ Marc Gangi Fundraiser. “ Drop off locations in Greenwich will be the The Cos Cobber (ask for Caren Vizzo) and Classic Shine of Greenwich (ask for Anthony Covello).
