GOP Presidential Hopeful Marco Rubio to Headline Annual Prescott Bush Dinner

The dinner, named in honor of the U.S. Senator from Greenwich, will be held in Stamford June 4.

Florida Republican U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, who’s seeking the Republican presidential nomination, will be the keynote speaker at the 37th Annual Prescott Bush Awards Dinner to be held in Stamford in June.

Connecticut Republican Party Chairman Jerry Labriola Jr. made the announcement Tuesday. t Rubio will be the keynote speaker at the dinner, named in honor of former U.S. Sen. Prescott Bush of Greenwich, that’s scheduled for Thursday, June 4 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Stamford.

“I’m thrilled to have Senator Rubio as the keynote speaker for our annual state party dinner,” Labriola said. “Senator Rubio is a dynamic leader with a record of accomplishment, and is an articulate advocate for free market, limited government policies. He is one of the Republican Party’s leading contenders for the White House in 2016, and we are honored to have him headline our event.”

Labriola added, “I believe Senator Rubio’s message about building a new American century will resonate with Connecticut residents.”

Rubio was elected senator from Florida in 2010 after having served as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. He announced his candidacy for President of the United States on April 13.

The Prescott Bush Awards Dinner is the Connecticut Republican Party’s largest annual event.

Tickets are $199 if reserved on www.ctgop.org by May 1; $250 after that date.
