Gov. Lamont Issues Declaration For Greenwich Film Fest

May 31, 2019 is Greenwich International Film Festival Day.

From GIFF: Ned Lamont, Governor of the State of Connecticut has proclaimed that Friday, May 31, 2019 is Greenwich International Film Festival Day in the state of Connecticut. The Greenwich International Film Festival is an all-female founded and run non-profit organization that bridges the worlds of film, finance, and philanthropy. The inaugural Greenwich International Film Festival took place from June 4-7, 2015, and the event has commenced annually since. The mission of the festival is to afford filmmakers the means to showcase their work, with the goal of eventually finding funding and distribution, as well as supporting an important cause each year.

“Greenwich is proud to celebrate and host the incredible Greenwich International Film Festival for another successful year,” said Governor Lamont. “The festival is an incredible and inspiring non-profit organization that was founded and is run completely by women. Festivals like this showcase the work of talented filmmakers while supporting critical human rights initiatives.”

“We are so honored by this proclamation from the Governor's office recognizing the significance of the Festival as well as the films and talent it attracts to the area from all around the world. This is a great event that brings the community together with films and panels that focus on causes that pertain to social issues,” said Ginger Stickel, Executive Director, COO.
