Greenwich #1 In State Field Hockey Coaches Poll
The high-powered Cardinals are enjoying a 6-1 record this season.

With no clear-cut favorite emerging among the top teams in Connecticut, Greenwich came out on top of the most recent weekly field hockey coaches poll.
Eight coaches voted in the poll, with no school receiving more than two first-place votes.
In addition to Greenwich (6-1), two other Fairfield County schools earned top 10 honors, Darien and Norwalk, and two others received votes but came up just short of the top 10, Staples and Immaculate.

Here are the top 10 plus all other vote-getters, with records through Wednesday, Sept. 27:

- Daniel Hand (5-0-1)
- Glastonbury (6-0)
- Darien (7-0-1)
- Norwalk (6-0)
- Enfield (5-0)
- New Fairfield (5-1)
- Granby Memorial (5-0)
- Pomperaug (5-0-2)
- Cheshire (5-0-0-1)
Others receiving votes: North Branford (8-0-1), Avon (4-0-0-1), Immaculate (5-0-1), Staples (5-1), South Windsor (6-0-1), Branford (3-1-0-1).
