Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
To give back to my community and correct the mismanagement of out town’s finances.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Mismanagement of our town’s finances- We need to run our town’s finances like a professionally run company. Continuous delays have cost our town tens of millions of dollars in unnecessary additional expense, the result of failing infrastructure and double digit construction inflation.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have over 15 years direct experience in Municipal and Infrastructure finance as an executive at Goldman Sachs.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
The key issue for our town is the vast majority of voters don't know about the problem of our failing infrastructure in the first place. When people learn of the problem I believe they will support efforts to move forward urgently to fund these projects.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have enjoyed significant success in my career, from beginning as a credit analyst at JPMorgan, to rising to a Managing Director and executive running part of the Municipal Bond Department, as well as Structured Finance, to a partner in a multi-billion dollar global hedge fund.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Keep it simple. Understand things at the most basic level and be able to communicate your ideas in a fundamental, simple way. (The advice of two Nobel prize wining finance professors, who had an ability to think at a very high level, but speak at a simple, understandable level).
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have no interest in politics. I am simply motivated by trying to do the right thing for our town. Greenwich has one of the highest concentrations of smart people, particularly smart financial professionals, in the world. It is shocking how unsophisticated and mismanaged our town’s finances are. We are getting less and spending more. We can change this with new BET leadership.
