Greenwich Announces Roadwork Moratorium For Holiday Season

The moratorium will be in place to accommodate additional traffic expected over the next two months.

GREENWICH, CT — As in previous years, the Greenwich Department of Public Works will institute a roadwork moratorium to accommodate the additional traffic that's expected this holiday season.

The moratorium will be in effect from Monday, Nov. 21, through Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 in the downtown Greenwich, Old Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob, Byram and Glenville central business districts.

"Department of Public Works issues these roadwork restrictions to minimize construction related traffic impacts on retail merchants and customers in our town’s vibrant shopping districts during the busy holiday season," said Greenwich DPW Highway Superintendent Peter Kurpeawski in a recent news release.
