Greenwich Attorney Embroiled In College Scandal On Leave: Report
Gordon Caplan was indicted in the federal college admissions cheating scandal.
GREENWICH, CT — The attorney from Greenwich embroiled in the recent federal college admissions cheating scandal has been placed on leave by his New York City law firm, reports the Middletown Press.
Gordon Caplan, co-Chairman of Willkie Farr & Gallagher, is among four-dozen people charged in the case, in which parents are alleged to have paid bribes to a company that gamed the admissions process to get students into elite colleges.
In a statement, the firm called Caplan's indictment a "personal matter" that did not affect Willkie Farr nor its clients, and while he is on leave, Caplan will have "no further Firm management responsibilities."
