Greenwich-Based Musician Releases New Album

Singer and songwriter Nick Carter recently released his new album titled "Fountain Pen."

GREENWICH, CT — Nick Carter, a Greenwich-based singer and songwriter, recently released a new album titled "Fountain Pen."

This is Carter's first foray into the contemporary folk world. It's an evocative follow-up to his his roots and more rock-oriented album "Lost Weekend," which was released in 2015.

To bring "Fountain Pen" to life, Carter collaborated with Grammy-nominated producer Seth Glier, who paired his voice with the talents of several established contemporary folk artists, including Ellis Paul, Antje Duvekot, Abby Gardner and Laurie MacAllister.

Carter's music has been called "soulful folk" and "a coffee break for the soul." His style channels Harry Chapin, Jim Croce and John Gorka, and his shows are an animated diary, exploring emotional landscapes with a voice that audiences find both fresh and familiar.

Carter was a finalist in the 2022 Rose Garden Coffee House Performing Songwriter Competition in Mansfield, Mass.

According to the bio on his website, Carter's musical life began on Feb. 9, 1964, when he and his family discovered The Beatles on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

Carter grew up playing drums and acoustic guitar, and sang in a cappella groups in high school, performed in rock bands and musical theater, his bio reads.

In 1999, Carter entered music education after 21 years in marketing and communications for financial services firms, his bio reads. He retired from teaching in 2014.
