Greenwich-Based Student-Athletes Receive National Academic Honor
19 girls from three Greenwich-based schools were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School National Academic Squad.

GREENWICH, CT — More than 2,500 student-athletes from 328 schools, including 19 from Greenwich-based schools, were named to the Keith Waldman - Optimal Performance Associates/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) High School National Academic Squad, announced Wednesday.
The National Academic Squad program recognizes those high school seniors and juniors who have achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 or the equivalent through the first quarter of the 2016-17 school year. There were a total of 2,522 honorees on this year’s squad coming from the 328 schools.
Seniors and juniors who have achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.9 out of 4.0 or the equivalent through the first quarter of the 2016-17 school year have been recognized as Scholars of Distinction. A total of 714 students received the Scholars of Distinction designation, indicated here by an asterisk (*).

The honorees from Greenwich Academy are Whitney Balanoff, Lucy Burke, Katie Callaghan, Tate Horowitz, Caroline Hughes, Anna Khoury, Erika Kraus, Eleanor Otton, Manveer Sandhu, Karina Schulze, Hailey Stern and Faye Tapsall.
Recipients from Sacred Heart Greenwich are Caitlin Kupersmith, Emily Lencyk, Olivia Monahan, Shannon Pyne* and Charlotte Sheehan.
