GREENWICH, CT — Election day in Greenwich is getting closer and there are plenty of candidates running for various positions in town. To help residents make an informed decision on Nov. 5, Greenwich Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as the big day draws near.

Incumbent Joshua Brown, 58, is running for a seat on the Representative Town Meeting (District 1). He has previously served as an RTM delegate for districts 8 and 10.

In total, he has served 13 terms on the Greeenwich RTM. He currently works in risk management.

Providing services and facilities for all our residents while dealing with most costs from the state. I will continue to work with all to develop and support initiatives.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? *

I have a proven record of bringing differing points of view together, developing consensus with a road map to act. I have been around awhile and know people in all areas of government and the town.

Having served 13 terms on the RTM, I have held numerous leaderships roles in:

  • finance
  • education
  • budget Overview
  • labor contracts committees
  • special committees for charter change
  • capital improvement/plan of conservation and development
  • RTM governance
  • districts

Listen more than you speak.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I believe in challenging the way do we do things, and change is a good thing. Doing it right, and being inclusive and respectful to others' opinions and ideas are things I do well.
