GREENWICH, CT — Election day in Greenwich is getting closer and there are plenty of candidates running for various positions in town. To help residents make an informed decision on Nov. 5, Greenwich Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as the big day draws near.
Incumbent Nancy Cooper is running for re-election to Greenwich's Representative Town Meeting (District 5). A Riverside resident, she serves on the Board of Directors for four corporations.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
What are the key issues facing Greenwich?

1. Keeping our property taxes affordable while responsibly trading off the many competing needs of this town.
2. Declining property values(wealth) at the same time the cost of town services continues to increase.
3. Since we are in a state where financial problems continue not to be solved, we need to be ready to have additional state costs pushed to Greenwich to absorb(teacher pension costs).
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Why am I running for a second term on the RTM?
As a 39-year resident of Riverside who has her daughter, son-in-law and grandson living here, I have four reasons for running.
1. I would like to ensure that we maintain our high focus on educational excellence;
2, To maintain Greenwich as a place where all ages want to live;
3. Keep our infrastructure competitive; and
4. Do all of the above in a fiscally conservative manner.

Fiscal conservative.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Forty years of operational, finance and budget experience including CFO and Director of Public Companies for a wide range of Fortune 500 and smaller companies, primarily focused in tech industry. Formerly a Governor of Riverside Yacht Club and also President of my homeowners association.
