GREENWICH, CT — Election day in Greenwich is getting closer and there are plenty of candidates running for various positions in town. To help residents make an informed decision on Nov. 5, Greenwich Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as the big day draws near.

Republican candidate Skip Parker, 59, is running for a seat on Greenwich's Representative Town Meeting. A Riverside resident, he has served as a alternate member on the town's conservation commission and is a founding member of the energy committee.

Parker has also worked as a wealth manager for 30 years.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I seek to limit debt issuance to keep the town's cost of borrowing at the lowest possible level. This can be done by making town spending and operation more efficient.

List other issues that define your campaign platform:

Conservation of the town's natural resources; creating energy resiliency; serving the town's senior citizens.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Treasurer of Call-A-Ride of Greenwich, Vestryman at St. Paul’s Church in Riverside, Chairman of the Greenwich Choral Society.

I am conservative but caring.
