Greenwich Cars & Coffee Faces A Road Block: Report
The social event has been held on Greenwich Avenue in the past, but those days might be numbered.

GREENWICH, CT — The automotive social event Greenwich Cars & Coffee is facing a possible road block to continue hosting the group's gatherings on Greenwich Avenue, writes the Greenwich Free Press.
The group is seeking permission from the Board of Selectmen - acting as the Greenwich Traffic Authority - to close a portion of the Avenue from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on four Sundays to allow motoring enthusiasts to showcase their exotic, high-end vehicles. The Sundays in question are April 15, June 17, Aug. 12 and Oct. 14.
During a meeting last week with the board, the event's organizers were met with skepticism from the Selectmen that the event is safe and an economic benefit to businesses in the community. The board has also received complaints that cars often speed out of the event causing a risk to spectators.

The board did not vote on the request, but told the group they could return with a new proposal highlighting how they would make the event more safe.
