Greenwich Chef Remembered For 'Gentle Heart And Soul'
Mark LeMoult, 59, a Norwalk resident, served as the executive chef at The Field Club of Greenwich for the past 14 years. He died on May 23.

GREENWICH, CT — Mark LeMoult, a Norwalk resident and a highly-esteemed chef in Greenwich, died on May 23 in a car accident. He was 59.
LeMoult was born in Bronxville, N.Y. and raised in Westport, according to his obituary. He first became interested in the culinary industry at age 13 when he was tasked with squeezing limes at Viva Zapata, a Mexican restaurant in Westport, his obituary said. LaMoult attended Staples High School and graduated from The Culinary Institute of America.
LeMoult's career as a chef took him to some of the area's finest restaurants, including Café Christina in Westport, the Hudson River Club and Rainbow Room in New York City and Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, his obituary said. He also served as president of the Club Chefs of Connecticut from 2006 to 2010.

For the last 14 years, LeMoult was the executive chef at The Field Club of Greenwich.
LeMoult enjoyed camping, river rafting and spending quality time with his sons. He always carved time out of his busy schedule to have "Tuesday Dad Days," many of which were spent barbecuing and cheering on the New York Yankees, his obituary said.

"All those who knew him will always remember his roaring laugh, unyielding hugs and his gentle heart and soul," his obituary said.
Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday morning in Fairfield.
