The Greenwich Choral Society will hold a musical benefit, “In the Mood,” in the Community Room at Christ Church, Greenwich. This is an opportunity to hear GCS members sing “fascinating rhythms” in tight harmony arrangements, assisted by jazz pianist Don Militello, trumpeter Peter Holsberg and Soprano Maggie McDowell Stallings.
In addition to the delightful music the benefit will feature festive wines, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and silent and live auctions. Tickets to the benefit are available at greenwichchoralsociety.org and by calling 203-622-5136.

Soprano Maggie McDowell was most recently seen in KINKY BOOTS on Broadway, THE
MARVELOUS WONDERETTES Off Broadway and Seth Rudetsky’s DISASTER! at CT Repertory
Theatre. She made her NYC solo cabaret debut with MORNING PERSON: To Broadway, Baby &
Back, a show which she wrote and starred in, at The Green Room 42. Original Broadway and Off
Broadway Cast of DISASTER. A Connecticut native, she earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from
Belmont University in Nashville. Maggie lives in NYC with her husband Stephen and son Thomas.
Trumpeter Dr. Peter Holsberg is a performer and teacher whose work has taken him around the world. Dr. Holsberg has played for Broadway shows in New York and on tour including Cats, Carousel, Crazy for You, and A Chorus Line. He has also performed with the Motown
Legends The Temptations. A highlight of his career was playing for two years on cruise ships sailing the Caribbean, Europe, Alaska, and South America. As an educator Dr.
Holsberg has been nominated for the music education Grammy four times. He is also a lead clinician for Performing Arts Consultants and leads the Jazz Philharmonic for Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Pianist Don Militello has performed with many jazz bands in venues throughout the U.S. and Europe, including at the East Coast Jazz Festival in Washington DC and the Charlie Parker Jazz festival in New York. He has also made stage appearances with many jazz notables, including as Dizzy Gillespie and Etta Jones.
Don has composed music for numerous film and dance projects and has taught jazz at the University of Florida.
