Greenwich To Commemorate 80th Anniversary Of D-Day

The event will begin at 4 p.m. outside Greenwich Town Hall on Thursday, June 6. The public is invited to attend.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich will commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day on Thursday with a short ceremony outside of Town Hall.

The event, which is open to everyone, will begin at 4 p.m. First Selectman Fred Camillo and other town officials will be in attendance along with representatives from local veterans groups.

On June 6, 1944, the Allied invasion of Normandy, France, took place, marking the greatest amphibious landing in history. The invasion was a major turning point in World War II.
