Greenwich To Consider Changes To Grade Plane Regulations
The town's Planning and Zoning Commission will hold hearings in July and August on a proposed amendment.

GREENWICH ,CT — Proposed changes to the town's grade plane regulations will be the subject of two hearings on July 18 and Aug. 1 before the Greenwich Planning and Zoning Commission, officials announced.
According to Katie DeLuca, director of the town's Planning and Zoning Department, the amendment is not proposing to change building heights in Greenwich.
"However, the overall height/bulk will be impacted in that one will not be able to build up a platform from which to build to the extent that can be done now under the existing regulations," wrote DeLuca in an email to Patch.

"The entire driver behind this regulation is the 2009 Plan of Conservation and Development," she continued. "Specifically, '1.33 Land-use agencies should review the extensive manipulation of existing topography by the use of grade plane walls.'"
