Greenwich Crews Remove Nearly 17,000 Cubic Yards Of Snow From Town Business Districts
Greenwich is still digging out from the major snowstorm that barreled through the region nearly two weeks ago.
GREENWICH, CT — The cleanup from the major winter storm that barreled through the region almost two weeks ago continued this week, as Greenwich Department of Public Works crews worked to clear snow from the town's business districts.
According to First Selectman Fred Camillo, crews removed more than 970 truckloads of snow, totaling close to 17,000 cubic yards during two overnight operations this week.
The snow was removed and relocated from areas in downtown, Old Greenwich, Byram, Cos Cob and the Route 1 corridor, Camillo noted in his weekly newsletter to the community on Friday.

Camillo thanked DPW employees for their work both during and after the storm. Cleanup is set to continue, Camillo said.
"Thank you to DPW for the long hours, which totaled an approximate 90 hours in the field and many of which were overnight, and hard work in these challenging conditions. We thank all the concerned residents for their patience and cooperation as the work continues with extended hours this week for further cleanup from DPW," Camillo added.
