Greenwich Crew's Women’s Junior Eight Boat Finishes 2nd At Head Of The Charles
The team, sponsored by the Greenwich Water Club in Cos Cob, finished second out of 85 boats.
GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Crew competed at the 53rd Head of the Charles Regatta this past weekend in Boston, and the team's women's junior eight boat took second place out of 85 boats that competed in their race, according to the Greenwich Water Club in Cos Cob, the team's sponsor.
The team registered an impressive time of 16 minutes, 28 seconds. The boat included coxswain Eleanor Leites, Amanda Pyne, Lucy Koven, Isabel Wilkowski, Daisy DeVore, Camille Boylan, Natasha Neitzell, Sofi de la Sierra and Ellarie Talgo.
"Last year they finished third, so to finish second this year while competing in a race with 85 boats from across the globe was a huge accomplishment for the girls," said Greenwich Crew director of rowing Mike Wieneke in a statement. "They had a strong season so far, but they weren’t quite sure where they stacked up against some of the other teams.
