Greenwich Democrats Host Neighborhood Caucuses Jan. 10 & 11

The local party is encouraging participation in an attempt to capitalize on recent election momentum.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Democratic Town Committee is looking to drum up participation at its upcoming caucuses in January, according to a recent email to voters.

"Right after the new year, at neighborhood caucuses on January 10 and 11, 2018, participants will elect all 75 members for the next two year term on the Greenwich Democratic Town Committee," states the email. "Every registered Democrat in Greenwich is welcome to attend, to nominate, to vote and most importantly to stand for election to the Committee (you can even nominate yourself!)."

  • District 1 - Greenwich Town Hall, Basement Lounge
  • District 3 - Hamilton Avenue School, Community Room
  • District 5 - Riverside School, Cafeteria
  • District 6 - Old Greenwich School, Cafeteria
  • District 7 - Greenwich High School, Student Center
  • District 9 - Western Greenwich Civic Center, Room 115
  • District 10 - Round Hill Community Church, Meeting Room
  • District 12 - North Mianus School, Media Room

The Jan. 11 caucuses will be held at 8 p.m. at:

  • District 2 - Greenwich Town Hall, Basement Lounge
  • District 4 - Byram Fire Station
  • District 8 - Cos Cob Library, Community Room
  • District 11 - North Street School, Cafeteria

"Don’t like where our country is headed? Then get involved! We’re looking for people who want change and reflect the diversity of our community," the party writes. "With your participation, we can build on the unprecedented success Greenwich Democrats had in last month’s municipal elections, and position the Party for gains in the 2018 midterm elections! President Obama said, 'Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.' Please get involved."
