Greenwich Democrats Fight BOE Charter Revision
The Greenwich Board of Selectmen are scheduled to discuss Charter Revision on Thursday.

GREENWICH, CT — Local Democrats are hoping to pack Thursday morning's Board of Selectmen meeting to show their opposition to a possible Charter Revision amendment to require changes to the Greenwich Board of Education go through a referendum.
In a letter to Greenwich Democrats Tuesday, Democratic Town Committee Chair Jeff Ramer called the potential move politically motivated.
"First Selectman Tesei is continuing his pursuit of a Republican-controlled board despite overwhelming opposition from the community, PTA Councils and the Board of Ed itself," wrote Ramer.

You may have thought the recent election would put to rest the idea of turning our politically balanced Board of Education over to partisan control. It didn't. First Selectman Tesei is continuing his pursuit of a Republican-controlled board despite overwhelming opposition from the community, PTA Councils and the Board of Ed itself.
The BoE charter change initiative is back on the agenda at the upcoming Board of Selectmen meeting scheduled for 10am, this Thursday Nov. 30 in the Town Hall Meeting Room.
We need a strong community turnout to send the message that we will not stand for a Republican-dominated public education agenda. Make no mistake—the extremism that we see in Washington exists right here in Greenwich too.
Please join us at Thursday's Board of Selectmen meeting to demonstrate your opposition to the First Selectman's blatant power grab, a move that has nothing to do with voter choice or accountability, the arguments he's using to promote his partisan agenda.
