Greenwich Dept. Of Human Services Expands Rent Assistance Eligibility
A range of assistance is available depending on need and is on a case-by-case basis that ranges from $500 to $4,200 per household.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Department of Human Services (GDHS) has temporarily increased the eligibility requirements for rent assistance funds for local Greenwich residents impacted by COVID-19.
GDHS rent assistance annual income eligibility is currently $91,300 for a family of four, with no more than $3,000 in assets. Assistance is also available for smaller and larger households and is reflective of HUD income limits.
A range of assistance is available depending on need and is on a case-by-case basis that ranges from $500 to $4,200 per household. To apply for assistance, families must be impacted by COVID-19, whether through illness, loss of job/income or the need to care for family members, and can contact the Greenwich Department of Human Services at 203-622-3800 or by email at GDHS@greenwichct.org.

A list of eligible income levels is available on GDHS’s website at greenwichhumanservices.org.
"We have seen families in Greenwich who have been impacted by COVID or its ramifications, struggle to pay their rent in recent months," said Demetria Nelson, commissioner of Human Services with the Greenwich Department of Human Services, in a news release. "GDHS is in a position to help and many don’t realize that they may be eligible for assistance. If you are struggling to pay rent and make ends meet, we urge you to contact our department to see how we can help."
