Greenwich Dispatcher Honored For Helping To Save Man's Life
Greenwich Public Safety Dispatcher Aidan Tobia recently received a divisional letter of recognition for his efforts on Nov. 18.

GREENWICH, CT — Aidan Tobia, a Greenwich public safety dispatch telecommunicator, was presented with a letter of recognition recently for his role in saving a man's life last month.
On Nov. 18, Tobia received a 911 call about a man who had collapsed on the floor and stopped breathing, Greenwich police said in a Facebook post.
Tobia calmly walked the caller through the steps of CPR while simultaneously dispatching first responders to the scene, police said. Greenwich Emergency Medical Services (GEMS) personnel arrived at the scene and took over care.

Public safety dispatcher telecommunicators in Greenwich undergo a six-month training program before they can work on their own, police noted. Part of the training involves emergency medical dispatch protocols.
"PSDT Tobia's actions for this call for service displayed the level of skill the town of Greenwich PSDTs must possess when taking emergency medical calls for service," police said. "Job well done, Aidan!"
