Greenwich Doctor Penalized By State Medical Group: Report
He was found to have prescribed high doses of opioids without adequate justification.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich physician Dr. Francis X. Walsh, medical director at the local Nathaniel Witherell nursing home, has been fined by the state Medical Examining Board for prescribing high doses of opioids in 2015 and 2016 without adequate justification, reports Connecticut Health I-Team.
Additionally, Walsh's medical license was placed on six-month probation, and he must take courses on prescribing controlled substances and medical documentation.
Following an investigation, the board determined that Walsh failed to properly document that he had treated some patients before prescribing them "potentially dangerous" medications.
