The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Greenwich is a wonderful place to live and work and but there is a need for a collaborative vision that looks beyond this election. There needs to be more harmony between our governing boards so that we can support our services and schools while keeping our taxes low.
I will strive to make sure that the Board of Selectmen works in cooperation with the Board of Estimate and Taxation and the Board of Education to make this vision a reality.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
Since moving to Greenwich with my family in 2006, I have immersed myself in the community, currently serving on the Representative Town Meeting, the board of Community Centers, Inc., as a Junior League sustainer advisor, and until recently on the boards of the Greenwich League of Women Voters and the PTA Council.
I have degrees in civil and environmental engineering and economics from Cornell, and and a master of public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School. My professional experience includes working as an environmental policy analyst and mediator.
Accomplishments:
The highly regarded local civic and social services organizations I have served give their best to Greenwich, and they have brought out the best in me. Through my service to them I have become well versed in the issues facing this Town, and as well as demonstrated my servant leadership.
Other issues:
Services. Sustainability. Schools. Our residents should expect a high level of services for their tax dollars and I am qualified to help the Board of Selectmen deliver. Recent flooding highlights the need to make our Town resilient; my academic and professional background make me well suited to support this endeavor. I have supported and will continue to support both the operating and capital education budgets.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
Those who know me will say that I am hard working, thoughtful, fair minded and respectful. I do what I say I’m going to do. I understand how large public processes work and am committed to serving the public interest inclusively. I know how to keep groups focused and work with all interested parties. Committed and capable people are one of Greenwich’s greatest resources and I am honored to be counted among them.
