Greenwich Father Arrested After Police Break Up Daughter's Underage Drinking Party

The incident occurred Saturday night, July 15, in Back Country.

GREENWICH, CT — The 55-year-old father of a Greenwich teen was arrested on a charge of illegal delivery of liquor to a minor on July 15 after police said officers broke up the daughter's underage drinking party attended by more than 200 people.

Officers were called to John Street in Back Country at about 11 p.m. on a report that numerous vehicles on both sides of the road were blocking travel. There were also reports of loud music and shouting.

Dozens of young people were seen on the two adjacent properties, with one being the main house and the other the guest house. Police found beer cans and cups strewn around the property, and when the revelers spotted the police they began to scatter.

While investigating the incident, officers discovered that girl's father, Lawrence F. Lunt, allegedly consented to, and had "knowledge of the underage drinking taking place."

He was charged with the above mentioned offense - the only person charged - and was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 7.
