Greenwich FD Collects $18K for Muscular Dystrophy
Members of the Greenwich Professional Firefighters Local 1042 collected $18,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

For four consecutive weekends, members of Greenwich Professional Firefighters Local 1042 have spent time holding their ‘fill the boot’ campaign, raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Led by Firefighters Matt Gordiski, Doug Howley and Adam Jacubowski, the men and women of the department collected donations over four weekends at various locations around Greenwich — Greenwich Avenue, at the Byram Firehouse on Delavan Avenue, at Sound Beach Fire Station and in Glenville.
“We collected $18,089 over the four collections and 100 percent of the proceeds go to Muscular Dystrophy. We will present the check on Aug. 30 at Mohegan Sun where the foundation has a party and telethon,” Gordiski said.

Gordiski added, “I would say one of the more important messages I want to send to the town is to give everyone a big ‘thank you’ for their donations and also letting them know that all the proceeds are going to the charity.”
