Greenwich is readying for the first town-run tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

GREENWICH, CT — Plans are being finalized for the first town-run tribute to Martin Luther King Jr., according to First Selectman Fred Camillo.
In his weekly newsletter to the community Friday, Camillo said he has been working on the event for the past few weeks and will have more details this week when a time is finalized.
As of now, though, Camillo said the event will be held on Jan. 16 in the Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room.

"This is something I feel is very important to do here in town because Dr. King’s messages of equality and justice and against racism and bigotry in all their forms resonate more today than ever before," Camillo said.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is on Jan. 15. More details will be announced in the Jan. 12 newsletter, Camillo said.
