Greenwich Fire Department Adds 2 New Firefighters This Month

The new members will replace two retiring firefighters who combined gave 58 years of service to the department.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Fire Department will add two new members this month to fill positions created by the retirements of two veteran firefighters, the department announced.

The vacancies were created by the retirements of Firefighters Rick Hayes and Terry Murphy; Hayes retired Aug. 1 after 32 years of service, and Murphy is retiring on Sept. 1 after 26 years.

Filling those two positions will be Adam Corwin and Frank O'Connor.

The department will host a swearing in ceremony for Corwin and O'Connor on Monday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. in the third floor training room at Greenwich Fire Headquarters.
