Greenwich Funeral Director Elected to Statewide Board

Joseph A. Murray has been elected to his first term as an Alternate member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA).

Murray is a licensed funeral director/embalmer and manager at Castiglione Funeral Home, Inc. in Greenwich. The second-generation funeral director has been around the funeral services business his entire life. He became a licensed funeral director/embalmer in 2012 after receiving his professional schooling from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City. He did his funeral service apprenticeship in the Greenwich/Stamford area, and then worked at several funeral homes in the state over the next five years.

Licensed in both Connecticut and New York State, Murray moved to Ballard-Durand Funeral & Cremation Services in White Plains, NY, in 2017. Two years later, he joined his current firm, Castiglione Funeral Home.

Murray and his wife, Lisa, have two children. A member of the Knights of Columbus in Greenwich, Murray also is part of the Town of Greenwich’s Suicide Postvention Response Team.
