Greenwich High Students Regional Finalists in Google Global Science Fair

GREENWICH, CT—Two Greenwich High students are regional finalists for the Google 2016 Global Science Fair.
Junior Shobhita Sundaram and William Yin were selected from thousands of entries as two of 100 finalists from around the world.

Sundaram's project was about machine learning predication of breast cancer cellular response to drug therapies. The computer prediction model analyzes molecular properties of drugs with specific cell-type markers and individual characteristics in order to customize treatment.
Yin's project focused on the development of a low-cost Band-Aid-like self-diagnostic tool for detection of atherosclerosis. The prototype only takes 30 minutes and costs about $5.

Both students are in teacher Andrew Bramante's science research course at the high school.
